Class Teacher

We are delighted to be offering an exciting opportunity for a highly committed and passionate teacher to join our school team.  Wellow Primary School is a single form entry school, with preschool, that converted to an academy in 2020 and joined the University of Winchester Multi Academy Trust.  We work closely with a like-minded group of 8 primary schools, which brings countless benefits and support for staff and children, including:

 Preschool Practitioner

We are looking to recruit an Early Years Practitioner, for our successful preschool at Wellow Primary School near Romsey.

Hours: 33 hours per week over 4 days, term time only,

Monday 8am – 5pm

Tuesday 8am – 6pm

Wednesday 8am – 4pm

Friday 8am – 6pm

Our teacher led, term time only facility takes children from 2-4 years, and is set within Wellow Primary School itself, enjoying the same attractive grounds and facilities.


You will be responsible for supporting our small and friendly team in ensuring that all children receive stimulating play experiences and interactions appropriate to their age, stage of development and individual needs.
You must have excellent people and communication skills as you will liaise with parents, staff across the school and other professionals from outside agencies.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and committed team who work well together and for each other.

The successful candidates will:

Be trained to at least NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and education (or equivalent)
Have obtained English qualifications to GCSE Grade 4/C, or their equivalent.
Be committed to the highest possible levels of achievement for every pupil
Be cheerful, flexible and approachable
Show initiative within the role and have good time management skills
Be a hard-working team player in order to support the growth and development of the children in our care.
Have the patience and imagination to encourage children to build on their skills.
Have some understanding and experience with children.
